Do you think we really need a devotional on patience? Patience has never been a problem for me, as long as everything is going my way and there are no unexpected delays or set backs, I'll be happy. Sound familiar? I'm one of those people who pray for patience and demand that God give it right now.
For the next 30 days we are looking at the virtue of patience from a multitude of different perspectives. Apostle Paul tells us in Galatians 5 that Patience is a fruit of the Spirit. If it truly is then what must we do to have patience? If it is a fruit of the Spirit then isn't the job of the Spirit to produce the fruit?
You might be surprised at some of the biblical concepts of regarding patients that we explore in the Daily God Walk as we look at this subject. It will take 30 days to get through this study, so have patience...
Some of the daily titles and Scripture references are:
Add To Your Faith… Patience - For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith…perseverance (patience in KJV)… If you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive. - 2 Peter 1:5-8
Wait For The Spirit – He Will Guide You - Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit. - Acts 1:4-5
Steadfast Patience Fills Us With Joy - You have need of steadfast patience and endurance, so that you may perform and fully accomplish the will of God, and thus receive and carry away [and enjoy to the full] what is promised. – Hebrews 10:36
